The Last Day at Moxy Media

Today was our last day together at Moxy. Well, let me back up a bit - Tuesday was actually the day we all got fired. Things at that company have been very unstable for the past year, and recently we all saw this coming..but not so soon, and so sudden. Especially after they completely tricked and bamboozled told us that we needed to “finish up our clients ASAP” so that we can “move to nationals” when it was actually so that they could lay us all off. Nice. What’s even more nice is how they told us in December we’d all be getting annual reviews and raises.

Well Tuesday started off as any other day, nothing seemed out of the ordinary, when the boss came in to have a meeting…I won’t mention names here, let’s just call him Deave.. so we think it’s just another meeting, I even get my notepad and pen, and Deave starts off by saying, “so, it’s not really profitable for us to keep the Florida SEO operations going” or something along those lines, everything else I didn’t really hear or pay attention to because I was so completely overwhelmed with shock and emotion. Once it hit me, I started to cry, and it came and went all day.

So they laid us all off. About 30 of us. Not only are me and my husband out of a steady job now, it’s more than just money. While we do have other means of income, a steady paycheck is always nice too - but once again, that place did mean more to me than that. I was there for 3 years, my husband 4 years. Although I slacked off from time to time, like all of us did, I did try to do a good job and I enjoyed what I did. I’ll miss it there, and it’s going to be weird not waking up every morning and going there after doing so 5 times a week for 3 years. And also..I don’t think I’ll find co-workers like that again. A lot of my co-workers ended up being some of my closest friends, and it was nice to be able to see them everyday and be able to work with them. I’ll miss you guys, and although I know we’ll still hang out, it really won’t be the same.

So after we got laid off, we went to have some drinks at Chilis:

Yes I know the picture doesn’t fit in this stupid gay layout, but I don’t give a shit. It will look retarded if I make it any smaller.

Last Day

Today we went back to get our computers, and Sam and I finally got to SADASA down the hallways like we promised eachother we would if this day ever came. If you don’t know what I’m talking about it doesn’t matter.
