Day 47: Hung Over

March 20th, 2009

So after last night, I was still feeling a little sick and Joe and I weren’t really up for doing anything except hanging out in the room. We watched a DVD rip of Changeling which we bought on the street for about $1 lol.. gosh I love Thailand haha. It was pretty good, but really sad.

We have also been spending the day planning some more of our trip, and booking stuff. We pretty much have the rest of our Asia trip planned out (til April 15) the other part of the Europe trip…well we haven’t quite gotten that far yet. Anyways, we basically plan on going to Cambodia, Bali- Indonesia, and Singapore (we found $15 flights to Singapore, so why not?) we will also be visiting Malaysia because it’s a gateway to some of these other countries, and then of course there are other areas of Thailand we will be going to (Koh Phangan, Bangkok and Phuket again, Phi Phi Don, Krabi and maybe Koh Chang) we are still debating whether or not to squeeze in Tokyo but are leaning towards no.

Day 46: Party Time

March 20th, 2009

It was a little cloudy today so we decided to skip the beach and head over to Chaweng. We walked around a little bit, did some shopping and then for dinner ate at a very nice restaurant. We have yet to get drunk on our trip so we decided it was time. I drank a drink or two here and there in Phuket but not enough lol. Plus, my cold is finally all gone.

Day 45: Jungle Safari

March 20th, 2009

Today was our Jungle Safari/Island tour. We got picked up around 9:30am in what looked like a safari type vehicle…so it was a little scary riding in it because it doesn’t seem very safe at all but it added to the experience I guess.

Day 44: Same Same But Different

March 20th, 2009

Really nothing to report today, just went to Lamai Beach again for the day and then had dinner..this time we ate at this Italian place which was really good, I definitely want to go back there. We also booked a couple tours. Tomorrow we have a tour around the island, you basically visit some of the touristy spots. Then on Tuesday we have an island excursion to Ang Thong National Park, which is basically a cluster of 42 islands…but of course not visiting all of them lol, it’s the 5 best ones plus some kayaking.

Day 43: More Lamai

March 20th, 2009

After about 14 hours of benadryl induced sleep, I am feeling a lot better (but still not totally better yet, unfortunately) we spent the afternoon at Lamai Beach again. This time the waves were pretty flat so we couldn’t really do the whole sliding off the rock thing..but it was fun.

We had dinner at this really nice restaurant right on the beach, and the food was pretty good, we will definitely be going there again. Afterwards we went and got some $5 massages again and then headed back to the hotel.

Day 42: Chaweng

March 7th, 2009

I am trying to fight off a cold that is still kinda lingering so I wasn’t really up for swimming or going to the beach today. We took a taxi to Chaweng, which is another part of the island and supposed to be the most touristy part. Well, it definitely was more crowded there and reminded me a little more of Patong. We had some lunch and walked around and explored a bit, we bought 5 DVD’s for $9 total which is awesome because we have a DVD player in our hotel room. Now we are just watching movies and I’m gonna get to sleep soon even though it’s early, I wanna get a full night’s sleep and fight off this cold because there’s shit to do dammit!

Day 41: Lamai Beach

March 7th, 2009

Today we spent the whole day swimming at Lamai Beach. I gotta say, the beach here is a lot more fun (And much less crowded and touristy) than Patong. They’re different - I like them both. But here, there’s rocks in the ocean that you can use as waterslides, lol. Sounds dangerous but it’s not. We studied them for awhile and then decided that it’s safe, the only thing you don’t do is stand on them (on the wet side of them anyways) because they get real slippery, and that’s how you bust your head open. So, just don’t do that. Otherwise it was lots of fun..like a waterpark lol. I was also able to buy myself a raft at the 7-11 so that enhanced the experience.

Day 40: Koh Samui

March 7th, 2009

Yesterday we arrived in Koh Samui (another island in Thailand) and today we just spent the day exploring. Due to the fact that my monthly visitor is still lingering, we didn’t go swimming but just explored the area, and checked out the beach. There was some huge rocks on the beach, and we climbed on some of them and just hung out there for awhile. For dinner we tried some random Thai place, which was a major failure..lol oh well.’

We are here for 15 days and have lots of stuff planned.

Days 25 - 39: Having Too Much Fun To Blog

March 7th, 2009

OK, so I’ve been lazy and forgetful and haven’t been blogging each day like I should be. It shouldn’t happen again. But really, we’ve been doing pretty much the same thing everyday - going to Patong Beach. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining at all and it’s been tons of fun, but I guess I didn’t feel the need to write about the same thing everyday. Of course we’ve done a lot more, but instead of writing an entry for each day I am going to just give a short version of everything in this one post because I have a lot of catching up to do.
