Day 71: Singapore

We left Malaysia this morning- now we’re off to Singapore.

You know what? I like Singapore even better than Malaysia. The scenery is very similar, the same mountains and stuff..although I would say in this aspect, Malaysia was still a bit nicer. But, Singapore’s city is much, much nicer. It’s extremely nice, in fact..and very very clean. From what I hear, they give ype insane penalities for littering. Selling gum is illegal because of the mess that it makes on sidewalks, so you won’t find it being sold ANYWHERE in Singapore. It’s legal to chew it if you brought it from another country, but if you’re flying in with large quantities of it, you will get in trouble. Finally, my landing card informed me that any type of drug trafficking, no exceptions, would result in the death penalty. Wow.

Orchard Road is the place to go in Singapore. It’s a huge road that has tons of shops, restaurants, bars and more. In fact, this road is said to have some of the best shopping in the world. It’s true. It’s almost overwhelming. But being the picky (and cheap) shopper I am, I didn’t have too much luck here, although I did get a few things.

Our hotel is very nice, and because they thought it was our honeymoon, haha (hey, you can have a honeymoon after 2 1/2 years of marriage..) we got our room upgraded for free :) the hotel is also right around the corner from Orchard Rd.
