Day 7: Bums in Paris are Creative + Museum Fun
Well, for those of you that also read Joe’s blog (mom & dad for example) probably already know this story but I’ll go over it again anyways.
We started off the day by deciding to go on the Eiffle tower tour. Once we got in the area, some lady that is walking the opposite direction of us picks something up from the ground and then comes up to us and ask if we dropped it. We say no. It looks like a cheap gold ring. She says “oh I guess it’s my lucky day” we say yep guess so and keep going.
Then she calls after us and says “it doesn’t fit, here you have it. Lucky day for you instead” Umm okay, that right there seemed weird but we took it and kept walking. Then we hear her call after us again, as soon as I hear her I knew instantly what was going on. The conversation went a little something like this:
Bum: Do you think I could have some money?
Joe: Uh .. we don’t have any at all, we need to go to an ATM actually coz we’e broke.
Bum: Well give me something I just gave you a gold ring.
Joe: Here, take the ring back. We don’t really care we don’t want it.
Bum: No, just give me some change please.
Joe: This is all I have.. *gives 50 cents* [Can't believe you did this, joe.]
Bum: That’s it?? I gave you a cold ring. I want to buy a sandwich.
Joe: Just take the ring then.
Bum: UGH!! *takes ring and storms off, with our change also*
Me: Ummm…can we get our change back then??
Bum: *Storming off, no response*
This bitch probably has a bag full of these cheap ass rings. The whole thing still pisses me off, it’s not the 50 cents that I miss as much as the fact that it was kind of tricked out of us. “Oh look at this ring I found” go fuck yourself, seriously.
Anyways..
So we get to the Eiffle Tower and it’s at that moment that Joe realizes he forgot the memory stick for our camera back in the hotel room. On top of that, the battery was about to die. So we have to go back to the hotel room because you can’t go to the top of the Eiffle Tower without taking pics.
By the time we get back and charge the battery we decide at that time to just go straight to the Musee Du Louvre. We were worried about the line being really big because apparently it can be a very long wait to get in, but it wasn’t at all, probably because it’s Winter. We spent a while in there, that place is huge and pretty much took up our day. Saw the Mona Lisa also.
We got a 2 day pass for one of those tour bus things where you can sit outside on the top, and it takes you everywhere around Paris. It was pretty fun.
