Day 14: Chinese New Year
Today we had to check out of our hotel and check into a different one because we were only able to book the first 3 nights at our first hotel due to the Chinese New Year. On the bright side though, this hotel is even nicer and it was right down the block. We are here for 4 nights and today is the Chinese New Year, well the start of it anyways.. yesterday was New Years Eve but nothing really goes on for that.
We went to go see Man Mo Temple, supposedly it gives you good luck when you visit it on New Years Day. So of course it was a little crowded but it wasn’t too bad. Everyone in there was burning incense and praying, it was cool to see but very smoky in there and a bit hard to breathe.
That night was the parade for the Chinese New Year. It was pretty packed, which we anticipated, and therefore we couldn’t see too much but we saw enough. Being super close to it was impossible, unless you were there very early or bought expensive tickets for seats that were close. It was cool but nothing amazing, I’d say the parades at Disney World are better.
Afterwards we had dinner at this Italian restaurant, I know it seems weird but it was actually pretty good.
